Just back from this years summer camp… we staying on an amazing piece of land on the peat levels near Glastonbury in sommerset.. lots of woodland and wetlands… lots of tic’s and mozzies as well…bless em!?

About 100 people. We had a 30ft tipi for a café eating space…a marquee for the big morning gatherings and trance dancing. Other small tents, tipi and domes for other gathering spaces. Needless to say the woods offered lovely spaces to just be. Solar showers kept us clean… the shower space gets more crazy every year. A scaffold towers of tanks and panels and a fire to heat the water when there is little sun… lovely!

Fantastic workshops… I missed a lot as I was organising most of the organic/vegan café on site. I did manage to have a natural face cleansing/make over, a discussion about peoples pagan paths i.e. what led them here and what is our stories, a discussion about doing a queer DIY low impact gathering. Worked on a great cernunnus ritual, watched the ever amusing cabaret and fashion show!!! Hung out heaps with the goat and three chickens that were wondering around while sitting and cooking by our camp fire in a little wooded grove. Hung out with some humans as well! I missed many workshops and rituals…too numerous to name…

Its always so wonderful to see everyone relaxed and having a good time. Less traumatic than previous years… we all live in this world and tend to off load a lot at camp, only natural really!

At then end…on my bike and cycling towards London… looking over my shoulder as a storm headed in and wondering how wet I would be and “is that another tic in my leg???” As for the storm? Well dark clouds gathered over the tor (that’s the remains of an old monestry built on the tor to try and christianise this pagan site!) anyway, they were swirling in a spiral over the hill….what a sight! And what a lovely end to a delightful camp! Hail to all the beasties, creatures, spirits, folk, place that held us all for those days in august!
